Meet The Guilsfield Show Team

Guy has chaired the committee for the past 3 years and is always happy to talk through any enquiries or ideas you may have for the show. Guy has a passion to ensure that Guilsfield show continues to be a. big part of the local calendar

Fiona having recently taken on the role of show secretary is always available for any enquiries she is also the dog secretary and is always happy to talk through any questions in relation to either, when she's not organising Guy.

Helen has recently joined as the shows Treasurer and has a wealth of experience in the financial sector as well as being a successful business woman. Helen is also a fantastic Horse rider and has taken part in the show as a competitor for many years.

Some people say he's an agronomist, some people say he used to work for MI5, some people say he's batman but all we know is he's our chief steward and also heads up the agricultural produce section. He's always happy to answer any questions or queries.

Sheila has been leading the cookery section for many years now and she does an absolutely amazing job of finding new recipes and interesting bakes every year to challenge the most competitive of cooks. You'll always find Shelia with a big smile and if you need any guidance or information don't hesitate to contact her.

Jayne Russell is one of the nicest ladies in Guilsfield village and what she doesn't know about flowers and floral art isn't worth knowing. A fantastic person to have as part of the Guilsfield show committee and if you have any enquiries in regards to the flower section don't hesitate to get in touch.

Liz has one of the most vast sections of the show to manage and yet she makes it seem a doddle. Getting the local school involved and always available to chat about any issues regarding the schedule.

Hugh has been in charge of the horticultural section for many a year and although he's happy to talk through any questions, he keeps the biggest growing secrets close to his chest, its a competition after all, let the biggest leek win.

The Horse section is by far the largest of the animal sections and so need a strong set of hands and in our case we have 2 pairs of strong hands. Anna and Kirsty bring their wealth of experience and passion for horses to encourage the growth and development of the horse section. 

What Jackie doesn't know about sheep isn't worth knowing, she's a walking, talking sheep encyclopedia. With a flock of purebred Jacobs at the home farm she knows exactly what the judges will be looking for and is always on hand to chat sheep.

If you need to know about anything poultry related Roy is your man. Having had a number of years where Roy couldn't have a section because of bird flu he came back with a bang in 2024 and we are hoping to see as good a turn out this year for Roy's poultry section as there has ever been.

Sue is our one woman party organising machine. She organises everything from the Summer party through to the Sunday lunch and everything in-between. If you're part of Sue's family you'll be making an appearance in the setup and running of all the events so be thankful you're just a paying guest and not a relation​.

Sue Has recently returned as Trophy Secretary from the dizzying heights of being last years show president. We are hoping she'll seamlessly slip back into the role, it's always hard to adapt when you've been at the top. Any queries in relation to trophies don't hesitate to get in touch.
